Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine stopped by McArthur in Vinton County, to announce a nearly $12 million project to build a brand new McArthur branch of the University of Rio Grande.

Suspected cases of measles have been reported by the Jackson County Health Department and the Vinton County Health Department. Vinton reported a possible case at Central Elementary School in McArthur.
