Los Angeles County officials and members from the Marine Mammal Care Center celebrated the end of the longest toxic domoic acid outbreak with the release of sea lion pups back into safer ocean waters.

Four sea lion pups were released Wednesday at Venice Beach in California after being nursed back to health by the Marine Mammal Care Center. The pups had all been poisoned by a toxin from an algae bloom.
