The University of Oklahoma’s campus in the city of Norman is secure and there is no threat, officials said nearly 90 minutes after the school sent active shooter alerts.

The University of Oklahoma said Friday night that an active shooter alert has been canceled following reports of possible gunshots on the university's Norman campus.

STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) – Oklahoma State University announced the development of its new, four-year nursing degree program on Wednesday.

The University of Oklahoma said late on Friday that its Norman campus was safe and no threat had been found after police investigated a suspected shooting on the premises.

She said during the past decade in Oklahoma, the number of bachelor’s degrees in nursing awarded has risen by more than 50%, which she said is still not enough to meet the demand.
