TULSA, OK -- Train whistles blowing day and ... Five Burlington Northern-Santa Fe railroad crossings downtown now make up a sealed corridor – a fancy term for a quiet zone.

They began building on the northern side of Tulsa beyond the railroad tracks, forming the bones of the city’s predominantly Black neighborhood that was separate from the white side of town.
