MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Officials in communities from rural to urban and red to blue blasted the Trump administration’s list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” with many saying they’ve been outspoken supporters of the president and his stringent immigration policies.

Cities and counties that have strongly backed the administration’s immigration crackdown nonetheless found themselves on a lengthy list of locales being warned to change their policies.

The Trump administration has named nearly 500 "sanctuary jurisdictions" nationwide that it alleges are obstructing federal immigration enforcement.
