The City of Troy is closing the South Troy Pool for the season Saturday, August 29th. The facility opened on July 18th after shutting down in 2017 for major repairs.

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Troy has plans to reopen a public pool at Knickerbacker Park after the pool was closed several years ago. The mayor said plans for a full aquatic center will soon be underway.

The pool will cost about $7.8 million, with the city sending $2 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to the project and the rest being handled by a NY SWIMS grant from Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The South Troy pool is opening for the season on Saturday. Open swim hours are from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Starting Monday, free lunch will also be provided for kids on weekdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
