Tommy Davidson made a memorable two-part guest appearance on the show in 1993. The Detroit-set "Martin" ended its original run in 1997, but it's never too late for a spin-off.

Davidson will star in the series, which will feature new characters as well as celebrity guest cameos. Varnell Hill is set behind the scenes of a long-running late-night talk show.
