Sheep Creek Reservoir – 1,000 tiger trout. Yep, another southeast Idaho fishery is receiving tiger trout! This 23-acre reservoir is located southeast of Montpelier off of Sheep Creek Reservoir Road.

Their goal is to stock brook, brown, rainbow, and tiger trout in 264 Massachusetts cities and towns. Stocking will begin the second week of March in the southeast.

Robert Riggs and his son Brent caught a state-record tiger trout while fishing Mannington Lake in West Virginia in late March. The fish weighed more than 12 pounds and replaced a record set in 2024.

The fish eclipsed the standing record for a tiger trout caught by Nathaniel Smith at New Creek Lake which was 11.98 pounds. Robert’s fish however came up short of the length record.
