The sternoclavicular joint (SC joint) is a joint within your shoulder. Your shoulder uses several different muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and bones to move properly.

Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was placed on injured reserve and is set to undergo surgery to repair his dislocated sternoclavicular joint in his shoulder, the team announced on Friday.

Postgame, head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation -- where your clavicle comes into your sternum -- and was hospitalized for further evaluation.

The SC joint provides the connection between the shoulder girdle and the trunk and, though it permits only limited movement, it is involved in most movements that occur at the shoulder.
