LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON — The second time was the charm. Snowbird's new red aerial tram cabin is now all but ready to go following an installation mishap that destroyed the previous cabin in May.
Snowbird Resort will replace its 50-year-old aerial tram this summer. The new cabins will have open-air balconies and glass panels in the floor during the summer.
They say the cabins with a "sleek exterior design" will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and three, 3-foot by 3-foot glass floor panels so riders can view the ground below.
The pair of red and blue tram cars will have special features for summertime passengers to enjoy, such as glass floor panels and a rooftop deck for up to 15 people.
