A heat wave hit much of the central U.S. over the weekend, while snow and cool temperatures arrived in the Northwest.

Travelers heading east from the Tri-Cities through Oregon on Interstate 84 should be prepared for snow. A winter storm warning is issued for Pendleton, Ore., through 4 p.m. Friday.
