Jennifer Lucas, the principal of a Clifton elementary school, died on Monday, Oct. 7, school officials said. Acting Superintendent Mark Gengaro announced Lucas' death in a letter to families.

In 2004, voters approved the acquisition of the high school annex on Brighton Road. The building first opened in September 2009 as a freshman academy for about 500 Clifton ninth graders.
