To commemorate Battle’s contributions, the city of San Diego installed an honorary street sign on Wednesday on Tecolote Road — now officially known as Eloise Battle Boulevard.

Eloise Battle, who dedicated her life to protecting Tecolote Canyon and other open spaces in San Diego, was honored with an honorary street sign in her name on the road leading to the park.
