A man is dead after a potential hit and run on J Street in Sacramento early Sunday morning, according to officials. Police responded to the 500 block of J Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday for reports of a man down in the roadway.

Sacramento Police said a driver hit and killed a man early Sunday morning and then fled the scene. Just before 2:30 a.m., police received a call about a man lying on the roadway on the 500 block of J Street.
