Kenya’s President William Ruto fended off a shoe thrown at him during a speech about the cost of living which has been a source of public anger, videos shared on social media showed.

Kenyan president William Ruto earns a monthly gross salary of KSh1.44 million, as set by the SRC in August 2023. Ruto's pay dwarfs that of Tanzania's Samia Suluhu.

President William Ruto is in Nyanza region to launch several projects, and Homa Bay has several projects he will be launching before hosting Madaraka Day.
