Swimmers were dealt some disappointment for another day as several Chicago-area beaches remained shut down due to high bacteria levels ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

A death investigation is underway after a 3-day-old baby was found unresponsive in the 7500-block of North Ridge Boulevard, Chicago police said.

Chicago Misericordia Heart of Mercy's Sister Rosemary Connelly, known for helping people with disabilities, died at 94. Her funeral was held Tuesday.
