Weeks of speculation are now over. Russell Martin is the new Rangers manager. The 39-year-old initially became the frontrunner in a process that included the club speaking to former Real Madrid assistant manager Davide Ancelotti and former Feyenoord manager Brian Priske.

Rangers have confirmed the appointment of Russell Martin as their new head coach on a three-year contract. Former Scotland international Martin, who had a short loan spell as a player at Ibrox in 2018, takes over from Barry Ferguson, who led the club on an interim basis following the sacking of Philippe Clement in February.
