In a new BBC documentary, Anne said the family persuaded the late monarch that this didn't matter. Queen Elizabeth II died at her Scottish castle on September 8, 2022.

Princess Anne will accompany the coffin on its journey. The queen's coffin will then be transported to Buckingham Palace by vehicle to rest in the Bow Room.
