Qantas Airways will resume flying some Airbus A380 superjumbos this week, giving Rolls-Royce a boost after the mid-flight failure of one of its engines forced an emergency landing this month.
Qantas has a rich history of flying to South Africa over the past 72 years, having operated Constellations and Super Constellations, Electras, 707s, 747s, Dreamliners and now the A380.
The A380 will operate four times weekly, with the 236-seat 787-9â which is currently usedâ on the other three days. Weekly roundtrip seats for sale will rise by 60%, including 112 in first class.
