VALPARAISO | Members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will be celebrating 25 years as a congregation beginning with a Divine worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday at 234 W.

Oktoberfest takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3625 SW Wanamaker Rd.

The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Oktoberfest runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. October 5 at the church, 3625 SW Wanamaker Rd.

Currently, about 475 families attend Prince of Peace at 1210 E. 11th St., but the church only seats 250 people. St. James at 3801 Ave. A serves 1,600 families and has 680 seats.

Prince of Peace Catholic Church dedicates its $3.9 million addition Thursday. It has a large gathering space, new offices, reconfigured classrooms and more parking.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church opened its doors in 1960 in Casper, said Gwen Quig, evangelism chairwoman. It holds worship services at 9 a.m. followed by fellowship.
