The Placer County Fair has arrived with a variety of carnival rides, concerts, motorsports mayhem and food for guests to explore beginning Thursday. The fair takes place from 5 p.m.

Firefighters are responding to a grass fire that started near North Auburn on Wednesday afternoon, officials said. According to Cal Fire, the fire is burning near Bell Road and Orr Creek Lane.
