A voluntary recall of the popular gourmet snack Pirate Booty has been issued on June 28, by the Food and Drug Administration, nationwide due to a possible health risk.
The company noted that Pirate’s Booty is the fastest-growing brand in the category, with 8% growth year over year. For B&G, capitalizing on the health food trend has already paid off.
All lots and sizes of Veggie Booty Snack Food are being recalled, the manufacturer said, because of 51 cases of salmonella poisoning in 17 states that may be associated with the product.
