An 8-year-old boy fell while hiking with his family shortly after 7 a.m., according to EMS. Firefighters airlifted him to safety, where paramedics treated him for a possible head injury.

Officers found a 13-year-old boy with gunshot wounds. The boy was taken to ECU Health Medical Center. Two juveniles are in custody and police do not believe there is an ongoing threat.
