In a game that was anything but pretty, the Philadelphia Flyers found a way to secure a hard-fought 3-2 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, snapping a five-game losing streak and heading into the 4-Nations break on a much-needed high note.

Saddled with a five-game (0-4-1) winless streak and headed into a two-week break in their game schedule, the Flyers had to have Saturday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the worst way. Although their offense continued to struggle, the Flyers found a way and came away with a 3-2 win at the Wells Fargo Center.

BOTTOM LINE: The Philadelphia Flyers will try to end their five-game skid when they play the Pittsburgh Penguins. Philadelphia is 23-26-7 overall with a 6-10-1 record against the Metropolitan Division. The Flyers have given up 187 goals while scoring 156 for a -31 scoring differential.

Joel Blomqvist got recalled when the Penguins sent struggling goalie Tristan Jarry to the AHL. The 23-year-old played only twice before Saturday night in three and half weeks, losing both contests since his return.
