The guardian of an 8-year-old Boston Public Schools student who was seriously injured when he was struck by a school bus in December 2024 is suing the bus driver and his employer for damages.

The family of an 8-year-old autistic boy run over by a Boston Public School bus last December filed a lawsuit against the district’s embattled transportation provider, Transdev, alleging negligence on the part of the company and its driver.

The crash left the boy, who has a diagnosis of autism, with a fractured femur that required two months of in-patient hospital and rehabilitation care, and multiple surgeries, according to the complaint.
