LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The cause of death for a 5-year-old boy with autism who was found dead after a statewide IAN Alert Tuesday in Hart County, Kentucky, was consistent with drowning.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of 3500 Montevideo Road. Upon arrival, first responders found a Ford F-150 overturned in a field.

Hart County Coroner, Anthony Roberts, reports that the preliminary cause of death for the 5-year-old found dead after an IAN Alert went out Tuesday was drowning.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle, but the 16-year-old passenger died on scene. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash at the request of the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
