NEW DELHI — The lone passenger who survived the Air India crash that killed 241 people onboard couldn't believe he was alive when he opened his eyes, surrounded by flames, debris and charred bodies.

Luke officials say the jet went down about 8:45 a.m. Thursday in the vicinity of Bagdad, which is about 85 miles northwest of the base. They say the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
