A nationwide recall of Ritz peanut butter cracker sandwiches over possible undeclared allergens has received the second-highest risk warning by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A labeling mistake has led to a nationwide recall of four different types of Ritz peanut butter cracker sandwich cartons, federal health officials said.

The FDA said people who have an allergy to peanuts may risk a 'life-threatening' allergic reaction by consuming the recalled product.

Some Ritz peanut butter cracker sandwiches are being recalled because the individually wrapped packs may be incorrectly labeled as cheese, not peanut butter.

A voluntary recall has been issued for select Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches that may be incorrectly labeled and cause severe allergic reactions.
