In June, Jessica Vincent purchased this vase for $3.99 during a quick stop at Goodwill on her way home from work. This week ,it sold for more than $100,000.
The vase was then listed as part of Wright's "Important Italian Glass" sale with a valuation of between $30,000 and $50,000. The final sale price more than doubled the top estimate.
Wright confirmed the vase’s authenticity after he sent two dedicated glass specialists from New York to Virginia to inspect it. Bidding for the vase opened at $24,000, the Times-Dispatch reported.
Flash forward a couple months and the vase has now sold for over $107,000. The bottle-shaped design features a swirling pattern that's blown with translucent red and opaque seafoam green glass.
