East Larch Mountain Road begins at the Historic Columbia River Highway near the Portland Women’s Forum viewpoint, running 14 miles to a parking lot atop Larch Mountain.

Trail Ridge Road Rocky Mountain National Park The popular route for tourists closed last Oct. 18. Too much snow prevented road crews from plowing all the snow and ice by Memorial Day weekend .

The drive up Signal Mountain Summit Road is 5 miles through dense pine forest, climbs about 1,000 feet and takes about 20 minutes. This road is paved, but narrow and winding.
