Ahead of the trailer’s global online debut, IGN chatted exclusively with actor Karl Urban – who brings the iconic Johnny Cage to life in Mortal Kombat II – as well as director Simon McQuoid and producer Todd Garner in their first extensive interviews about the highly anticipated sequel.

In the trailer, Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) is seen drinking at a bar, telling a fan that his days as the top action star are long behind him. When he makes his way to the car park, he’s met by Raiden and Sonya Blade, who inform him that he has been chosen to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament; an infamous battle to the death.
