Morrison Hotel on South Hope Street has seen better days. A fire at the end of 2024 signaled an anticlimactic end for the hotel immortalized on the Doors' 1970 album cover with the same name.

“On this day, December 17th, 1969, we were out taking photos for the Morrison Hotel album cover,” Diltz wrote on Facebook. “We were at a transient hotel in Downtown LA on Hope Street.
