The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to expand further, with three new animated movies now in development. The first is being directed by veteran Avatar director Lauren Montgomery.

Avatar: The Way of Water will become available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD on June 20. The same day, the 2009 original Avatar will also be offered in 4K UHD for the first time.

Both “Avatar” franchises are now set for major comebacks. Cameron’s long-awaited sequel, “The Way of Water,” opens in theaters Dec. 16 and will be followed by at least one more sequel.

IMDb states that Avatar: Fire and Ash will be three hours and 12 minutes. However, James Cameron said in a recent interview with Empire Magazine that the film will actually be longer than that.
