Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has voted to hang a portrait of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the mayor’s parlour at The Braid in Ballymena.

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council’s Planning Department is due to move from its former base at Silverwood Business Park to the Ardeevin building, 80 Galgorm Road, Ballymena, on November 11.

The chief executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has disassociated herself from controversial comments by a DUP councillor in an exchange on Ballymena’s racist violence.
