PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - For some Mexico Beach residents and visitors, getting groceries is not easy. The area has been without a full-service grocery store since Hurricane Michael in 2018.
Hurricane Michael, with maximum winds of 160 mph, was the first Category 5 hurricane to make landfall in the Panhandle and only the second to hit Florida since Andrew struck Miami in 1992.
The Joint Legislative Committee of Florida (JLAC) shared the findings of the rigorous audit that was conducted last year in Mexico Beach, showing significant management turnover but no fraud.
