On Wednesday, Rice took to social media, posting a photo of himself and Mahomes at Chiefs practice. Mahomes had his arm over Rice in the photo while the two were on the sideline with a helmet in hand.

But Curiel had captured the moment the helmet broke and it has earned her worldwide recognition. The picture also was voted by CNN as one of the top images of 2024.
