Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is condemning the presence of federal agents and National Guard troops who descended on MacArthur Park July 7.

The raid resulted in little more than an empty park and increased tensions between the federal government and Los Angeles’s mayor.

Bass called the scene “un-American" as agents were seen storming through the park on horses minutes after kids were playing.

Upgrades to MacArthur Park in Central Long Beach is nearly complete, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, July 26.
