MGS Mfg. Group, a Germantown-based supplier of injection molded plastic components, tooling and and other equipment, has been acquired by Mason Wells, a private equity firm based in Milwaukee.

In early 2008, MGS had more than 500 workers in its Germantown facilities. In the last month, the company has had to lay off a small number of workers, but Reed could not give the exact number.
