A typical day at Lock and Dam 5, near Minnesota City, Minn., turned into a quick reaction rescue for two of the St. Paul District's lock operators recently.

The Fort Plain Fire Department was called to Lock 15 at 9:05 in the morning on Wednesday. A dog had accidentally fallen over the canal wall and into the water.
