A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy who was recorded violently tackling and pepper-spraying a woman while she filmed a man being handcuffed has been found guilty of excessive force.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy was found guilty of excessive force in a 2023 incident involving a man and woman outside of a grocery store. The incident happened in June of 2023 in the city of Lancaster.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's 38-year-old computer-aided dispatch system had also gone down New Year's Eve with a Y2k-style glitch.
