CHINATOWN, Wis. -- It was a scaly discovery in a Wisconsin lake for a group of kids who found an alligator swimming in Long Lake. The lake is located near Sheboygan and Fond Du Lac counties.
The gator turned up in Long Lake on July 1. It's described as being 18 to 24 inches long. The rescue facility says it will place the gator in an accredited sanctuary if no one claims it.
After massive precipitation, the long-dry Tulare Lake is back. That's been hard on crops and homes, but has allowed the Tachi Yokut Tribe to reconnect with the lake they once built their lives around.
