Once the mechanised hare was introduced from the United States in 1926, greyhound racing in Britain boomed in now-demolished, giant London stadiums like White City and the original Wembley.

On Tuesday, members of City Council unanimously approved a 5-year agreement with Greyhound, under which the bus company will pay $14,640 this year for the use of Main Street Station.

The property that the Greyhound station sits on was purchased by Twenty Lake Holdings back in 2021. The Connecticut-based real estate investment firm plans to build apartments in its place.
