Logan also had the largest opening weekend box office total of 2017 so far, and had the widest release of any R-rated movie in history, with a budget of $94 million.

In Logan’s universe, though, Charles Xavier is very much dead, and he was killed by X-24, a clone of Wolverine in his prime. It was like closing a door, a full circle moment.
