Steve Newman will continue to serve as village president after Aaron Peer, who won could not take office due to a past felony, did not receive clemency by this week.

Village attorney Allison Wright told the village board Monday that even if Aaron Peer gets an expungement, she is not sure if it would allow him to become village president.
