Lincoln Park, Chicago is the latest neighborhood to try rat birth control to curb the population, Alderman Timmy Knudsen said Thursday.
The pilot — to take place in the 43rd Ward — is a partnership between Knudsen’s office, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Chicago Bird Alliance and the Department of Streets and Sanitation.
The privately funded "Rat Contraceptive Pilot" uses non-toxic contraceptive pellets to reduce the rat population in Chicago. Its next test neighborhood is Lincoln Park.
