Team USA gymnast Jordan Chiles has broken her silence about the possibility she may have to surrender her bronze medal in the floor exercise final at the Paris Olympics.
Chiles herself spoke out about her lingering situation for the first time on Thursday. “I am overwhelmed by the love I have received over the past few days,” the 23-year-old wrote on social media.
Chiles’ final score was changed to 13.666, putting her back into fifth position and Barbosu, 18, was given the medal on August 16, one day after Chiles issued her statement via social media.
Chiles previously spoke out about the unnamed abusive coach during an episode of "Peace of Mind with Taraji" on Facebook Watch in November 2021. Chiles said her previous coach would "call me fat.
