Ford unveiled the last model of its third-generation GT supercar Friday and it’s a track-only, 800-pound predator that plays homage to the 1967 Le Mans-winning, Ferrari-stomping GT Mk IV.

Ford also brought in its NASCAR racing team Holman & Moody for extra manpower, and with a much bigger and better-prepared team, headed back to La Sarthe for the 1966 running of Le Mans.

After three bids, Bruce Meyer's 2018 Ford GT currently rocks $875,000 on Bring a Trailer. The auction ends Tuesday, October 18th, at 8:00 PM.

The carmaker sold close to 72,500 Mach 1s in 1969, while the GT dropped to 5,400 units. It was living proof that Mach 1 and the GT couldn't exist side by side, so Ford decided to abandon the latter.

High-tech features include the push-button activated front lift system and Ford Performance App compatibility. This GT is 1 of only 1,350 made in 2021, making it a rare collector’s item.
