The Lake Geneva Police Department and residents got into a heated exchange on social media Friday after the city canceled its Fourth of July parade due to inclement weather.

Mayor Kelly Hughes told us the issue has been longstanding, but she told Channel 2’s Cory James that the city and its workers are working around the clock to improve the condition of the water.

Residents in Lamar County have reported that their tap water has been brown for three months, with the issue persisting for years.
