The top-seeded Texas Tech softball team got the Lubbock Regional of the 2025 NCAA tournament started with a workman-like 6-0 win over fourth-seeded Brown Friday afternoon at Rocky Johnson Field.

Johnson’s homer sent the second-seeded Tigers (44-12), who didn’t start playing softball until 2020, to their first victory in eight all-time meetings with the top-seeded Seminoles (46-9).
