The cast of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" has to cover a wide range of dramatic genres, aided in part by the show's ample stockpile of wigs.

Actor Kenneth Mitchell, who was known for his work on "Star Trek: Discovery" and "Captain Marvel," died from ALS complications Saturday. He was 49.

The 10-episode third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on Paramount Plus on July 17, with two new episodes. Subsequent episodes will premiere weekly on Thursdays through Sept. 11.
